Born and raised in Quebec Canada, Michelle, like so many women, wears a multitude of hats: mother, teacher (she homeschools her two grade-school aged children), independently contracting web developer, co-manager of an online poetry & writing forum. She began at Moondance in the fall of 1998 as the Nonfiction designer. This experience served as a place from which she has grown to her current professional status as a web developer. "My entire life has changed thanks to Moondance," she says. "Thank you Moondance!"

Shirley Harshenin

Jeanette Stanhope Columns Designer
Inspirations Designer
Nut-Head Productions
Shirley is a happily (and gratefully) retired-from-working-outside-of-the-home 41 year old mother of three daughters, ages 18, 13 & almost 2 years. Married to the same devoted man for 20 years, her family is the Light of her life. Born and raised in the beautiful Okanagan Valley, BC, Canada, she continues to reside there with her family. She is a self-taught web designer, with a growing portfolio. She is very grateful to Moondance for giving her this opportunity as Inspirations Designer to expand her talents, and in awe of Michelle's enduring patience while she learn the ropes!
Shirley works from home as a web page designer/builder and freelance word puzzle constructor - her word puzzle works published in KAPPA, Highlights for Children, READ, Weekly Reader, Penny Press, Dell, and others. She also has a (somewhat idle at the moment) home-based wheat weaving business, Harvest Creations.
Shirley also enjoys writing poetry, and is in the process of editing her anthology/diary for young adults: I Never Cried: Diary of a Troubled Teen. With any luck, publishers will get a peek within the next...year?
Her article Word Lists and the Word Search Puzzle was published in Canadian Writer's Journal in the Fall99 issue.
Prior to her "retirement" Shirley worked as a Kitchen Manager, Optician's Secretary/Receptionist, and Breakfast Co-ordinator.
