Cinderella by Laura Cavanagh
Cinderella didn't want to be a queen.
It was never ever about money you see.
It wasn't either about power.
or the divine right.
She just wanted a better world,
to set things right.
She would have given up the throne,
and her crowned prince
to live alone
if it meant that girls who swept,
were loved and cared for,
and hardly ever wept.
BIO: Born in Donegal, Ireland in 1981, poet Laura Cavanagh later went to the University College in Dublin majoring in psychology and getting her graduate degree in computers and artificial intelligence. Today she is living "down under" in Australia. She is passionate about environmental issues, both world wide and on a local level. Her recent article on plastic bag levies in Australia has been chosen for publication by the Melbourne paper: "The Elwood Tribune."
