Like the street beggar who knows that she will never use the sterling candlesticks buried at the bottom of the filthy cart, they still represent her hope of what might be. That’s what my books, magazines, and journals mean to me, for though I can no longer retain what I read or assemble words into proper sentences, I have my own metaphorical silver buried within my canvas bag. It says softly… Maybe someday, maybe.
