Weightless

The sea is climbing gently up her thighs. No waves--barely a movement--more, a pulse. She's holding her hands out of the water. While they are dry she thinks she could change her mind if she wanted to, go back; but with the water at the top of her thighs she dips both forefingers into the sea, breaking the meniscus, completing a circuit.
