Now we all know that Mr. Chase takes his life seriously, but what we don't know is that life sometimes takes Mr. Chase humorously. The incident was a quaint comedy of errors, but one he would never ever want to live through again.

My problem was with Stevie Nicks. Her voice bothered me. "Why isn't this woman singing country and western?" I asked anyone who would listen to me. The voice, which has been described as "raw," is nasal — not Linda Ronstadt soulfully nasal — but nasal in a way I have traditionally associated with country music. It just didn't fit a rock singer.

Do I feel my spirit soaring with the clouds as they gallop overhead? No. I am an observer, noting that with the passage of mere minutes, the gloomy clouds have made their exit and a transparent white veil now mutes the sky into a watercolor wash of bleached blue.

Dupe. Sucker. Patsy. Scapegoat. It's hurtful to admit it when such terms apply to us. Many of us — especially the meek and good-natured — find ourselves being taken advantage of occasionally.

the goddess within: investing time and energy to nurture her
The Goddess is subtle. She begins by dropping little hints here and there to get our attention. Her presence continues to grow and grow until she surrounds all aspects of our lives.
