[G Minor: Information Is Best Processed While Lying On A Couch]
by Leigh White

my Achilles heel was sketched by Andy Warhol
and it turned out to be a platform shoe
I slid into second base face first and didn't care
I knew
I was safe

[Diamond Dust Shoes]
"Diamond Dust Shoes"
by Andy Warhol

your fresh made salsa voice tart with temptation and alluvial fandangos
I can't begin to explain what a good kisser is like
I will just have to show you
a 2 hour phone conversation
is hidden in a silo somewhere in Iowa
when did it get this easy
to slip away
and say what was really on my mind

Bio: Leigh White was born in the sea of blue eye shadow and polyester known as the Chicago suburbs. She really was dropped as a baby when she was six months old. Her parents, Chuck and JoAnne, really do feel very badly about the entire incident and wish she would stop bringing it up.

Professionally, Leigh is an award winning copywriter, designer and illustrator and has a Bachelor's degree in Communications from California State University, Fullerton. Leigh read her first poem in front of an audience at the Laguna Beach Brewing Company in 1998. Since then, she has been featured all over Orange County in various coffeehouses, bars and musty bookstores. Her World War II poetry is part of the permanent collection at The Institute on World War II and the Human Experience, the foundation set up by NBC anchorman Tom Brokaw. Her first love is fine art. She paints every day. She prefers her Van Halen with Roth and not Hagar.
