[Musings from the Universe]

HER FACE
Larry Jaffe

Her face curved
in dignified angles
of Hebraic revenge
the sheer desperation
of her words
took hold
of my roots
in one see-through glance
of creative passion
and so went my existence
into a pit of ecstasy
that bit my tongue
and held my breath.
I sit still
watching her every
move
transfixed by words
that stumble
parade
and preen
to images
she has dropped
to the floor
for me to pickup.
And then wanting my
fingers
to join hers
in singular passion
one digit
at a time
of sensual devilment.
She stood there
so poised
an ancient Rebecca
a reborn Rachel
in Hebrew discontent.

Larry has decided that he no longer believes in biographies, and adamantly poses that, "If you want to know who I am read my poetry...The simplicity is I don't want to know what I have done I want to know what I am doing and will do."
I think our readers want a little more, so I will tell you that he has been featured in poetry venues and festivals both throughout the U.S. and abroad. He is very active in the poetry community hosting the very hot ultra chic weekly PoeticLicense series at Zen Restaurant in Silverlake, California. www.poetix.net Jaffe is also a featured poet for Daimler/Chrysler's Spirit in the Words poetry program. His web sites have won numerous awards and one of his best creations is the poets4peace site at www.poets4peace.com. Each month Jaffe writes a poetry column for www.about.com as the socal (Southern California) poetspondent for their Museletter. He is the International Readings Coordinator for the United Nations Dialog Amongst Civilizations through Poetry project www.dialoguepoetry.org.
