Tether No More
by Joni Hendry

Tethered like kites,
against strong winds,
we fear the dance
and miss the hues.
Twists and turns
can take us to
avenues that flood
our souls.
To unravel
the mysteries
we must open
our minds,
till we are
no longer grounded.
Let fly
the secrets
held close
to our breasts,
release them
to the wind.
