There are no clocks in your room
but the time goes by just the same.
In the silence, the seconds fly
as you and I try to stop them.
One minute longer for a lifetime
of not knowing each other - we pray
with lips parched from silent crying
but the time goes by just the same.
There are no clocks in your room
so time stands still when you're alone.
The loneliness drags at your brain
and you live a week in a day,
repeated with each tick of invisible time.
There are no clocks - only silence and pain
but the time goes by just the same.
