Mama and I see
a yellow taxi let him out.
He staggers till he falls.
A big black spot
in the snow.
She wants me to help her
drag him in.
Let's leave him here, Mama,
we could pretend we didn't see.
(for once her eyes meet mine)
Let's leave him
till the yard
is white again.
